Organization and Implementation Progress of National Key Research and Development Program "Science and Technology Innovation for High Yield and Efficiency of Crop"

Abstract:

The 13th Five-Year Plan period is the key period to ensure food security, implement the "mode transformation and structure adjustment" and enhance the sustainable development ability of agriculture in China, and the supporting role of science and technology is also more important in this period. A research and development program on "Science and Technology Innovation for High Yield and Efficiency of Crop" was initiated in the context of national research project reform, so as to provide scientific and technological support for high yield of crop, efficiency increase and sustainable development. This paper outlined the process of the program since its inception in 2016, including phased progress in fundamental research, common key techniques and technique integration and demonstration, important periodical achievements of the projects, and management experience, so as to provide reference for related researchers and government departments.
