Research Progress of Tobacco Pollen Vitality

Abstract:

The seed production of tobacco sterile lines and hybrids are the trend of world tobacco production. Sterile lines and hybrids must be artificially pollinated during seed production. High-vitality pollen brings high fertilization rate and high seed yield and quality, while tobacco pollen collection, storage and application are the key technical aspects of tobacco sterile lines and hybrids seed production. This paper reviewed the research progress of detection methods of tobacco pollen vitality, the influencing factors on tobacco pollen vitality and its preservation methods, which provided a reference for tobacco seed production.
