Photosynthetic Characteristics of Different Adzuki Cultivars under Intercropping Patterns

Abstract:

Photosynthesis is not only the basis of plant growth and development, but the determinants of plant productivity. Under adzuki bean-corn intercropping mode, two-factor split block experiment with 5 adzuki varieties was used to investigate photosynthetic parameters at flower-pod stage of adzuki beans and their economic characteristics. The results indicated that, the Pn of variety Zhonghong 10 was the highest under intercropping mode, and variety Zhonghong 6 ranked the second; while the Pn of variety Jinxiaodou 5 was the highest under no shade condition, and Zhonghong 6 ranked the second. Because the final yield was be corresponded with the value of Pn, it was thus deduced that variety Zhonghong 6 was the best of all tested varieties, which was suitable to the cultivation of central Shanxi province.
