Effects of Double-Cropping Rice Cultivation on the Expression of Quantitative Characteristics of Rice DUS Testing Example Varieties

Abstract:

Based on the field experiment, the effects of different cultivation seasons on the expressions of 13 quantitative characteristics of 21 rice varieties listed in the Rice DUS Test Guidelines were analyzed. The results showed that the three quantitative characteristics of 1000-grain weight, stem length, and grains per ear were greatly influenced by the early and late seasons and stem diameter was the least affected characteristic. Among all the rice varieties, ‘Zhuyunnuo’ was the most affected variety by the early and late seasons, followed by ‘Guihuahuang’ and ‘Yuanzizhan’, while ‘Chuan 7’ and ‘Ainuo’ was the least affected. Two rice varieties corresponding to the characteristic of ears per plant and seed setting rate had poor consistency in early and late seasons and proposing to replace ‘Luchuanzao 1’ with ears per plant on code 7 to ‘Tsukushiakamochi’, and replace ‘Dasanbyeo’ with seed setting rate on code 7 to ‘Teaixuan’ of optimization suggestions for rice varieties. The quantitative characteristics of the early season were adjusted according to the grading range of the late season, the adjusted grading codes of each standard variety showed good consistency in the early and late seasons.
