Row Intercropping System of Purple Sweetpotato with Different Density’s Sunflower

Abstract:

In order to adjust agricultural structure and solve the problem of arable land resource shortage in Yanqing district of Beijing, a field experiment of intercropping system of purple sweetpotato and sunflower was carried out. Results showed that intercropping could increase the benefit of sweetpotato cultivation. Sweetpotato yield first increased and then decreased with sunflower density increasing in the range of 3 125~12 500 plant/hm 2. Sunflower yield decreased with reduction of density. The intercropping mode had a higher yield and benefit within the range of 4 167~6 250 plant/hm 2. And 4 167 plant/hm 2 was considered to be the most proper sunflower density among all the treatments with purple sweetpotato yield of 33.48 t/hm 2 increased by 13.26% and total benefits of 165 411yuan/hm 2 increased by 21.80%.
