Problems and Countermeasures of Paddy Field Multiple Cropping in Southern China

Abstract:

It is of great significance to investigate the present multiple cropping, existing problems and to put forward countermeasures for the sustainable development of southern paddy production. By field observation, typical case analysis, literature browse, the multiple cropping system, research progress and production in current paddy field were elaborated. Under the situation of rapid development for multiple cropping patterns in southern paddy field, the problems of multiple cropping reduction, decreased area, unitary pattern, reduced benefit, declined land capability, abandoned arable land existed. Countermeasures for these problems were the implement of the diverse, high efficient, intensive, light-duty, green and ecological multiple cropping patterns in southern paddy field.
