Effects of Different Harvesting Periods on the Commerciality and Yield of Edible Sunflower

Abstract:

This experiment studied on the effects of different harvesting periods on 100-grain weight, single plate grain weight, flower skin rate, white head rate, the study aimed to provide theoretical basis for improving the quality and efficiency of edible sunflower in Beitun Reclamation area. A completely randomized block experimental design was used to analyze and study the merchantability and yield of edible sunflower in seven harvest periods with local main cultivars (Sanrui 11, Lefeng 9416, Qiyuan 6). The results showed that with the extension of harvest time, the yield components first increased and then decreased, while the commodity property as a whole decreased. Considering the yield components and commerciality, the best harvest date of Sanrui 1 was around August 18, Lefeng 9416 and Qiyuan 6 were around August 20.
