Key Technology for Autumn Sowing and Pre-Winter Management of Winter Wheat

Abstract:

The overall situation for autumn sowing of wheat this year (2024) is favorable. Firstly, the soil moisture is generally sufficient, which is conducive to sowing with suitable soil moisture; Secondly, the seeds have good quality and sufficient quantity, which can meet the needs of autumn sowing. The main unfavorable factors are frequent natural disasters and high uncertainty in meteorological conditions. The key technologies for autumn sowing and pre-winter management are centered around the “four suitability” of suitable soil moisture, suitable period, reasonable amount, appropriate depth, focusing on the “four key” aspects (key period, key area, key link, and key technology). Emphasis is placed on the “three links” (good land, good sowing, and good seedlings), implementing the “double suppression” (pre-sowing compacting and post-sowing compacting), striving to achieve “one improvement” (increase the proportion of the first-class seedlings before winter), and laying the foundation for high wheat yields in the coming year (2025).
