Optimization of the Total Flavonoids Extraction Technology in Sugarcane Leaves

Abstract:

To determine the optimal extraction conditions of flavonoids in sugarcane leaves by spectrometric method, sugarcane variety Dianzhe 01-58 selected by Yunan Agricultural University was used as material and rutin as standard. The different types of flavonoids of leaves both in wild species and cultivated varieties of sugarcane were determined by the index of extraction rate based on single factor and orthogonal test. The results showed that 70% (V/V), 70℃ and 90 minutes were the optimal ethanol concentration, extracting temperature and extracting duration, respectively. The flavonoids production were significantly different among different sugarcane types, Dianzhe 09-38 showed the highest flavonoids production in cultivated sugarcane and Miscanthus floridulus clone Ι 91-27 also showed the highest flavonoids production in wild sugarcane species. The results suggested that the flavonoids content in wild species were higher than that of cultivated species.
