Comparison Study on the Yield Components and Quality of Different Sugarcane Varieties (Lines)

Abstract:

In this experiment, ROC22 was used as the control (CK), and nine sugarcane varieties (lines) were tested in the field for plant cane and first ratoon. The agronomic traits, stress resistance and yield traits were investigated and comprehensively evaluated. The results showed that there were six varieties (lines) that increased yield and increased sugar content compared with CK. Among them, the indexes of rate of tillering, rate of perennial root sprout, sugarcane yield, sugar content and effective productive stalk had obvious advantages with CK on Guire 2 and Liangzhe 02-186. The Dead heart rate and tip rot rate of Funong 41 was the highest. The sucrose contents of Liangzhe 07-53, Liangzhe 03-23 and Liangzhe 03-81 were lower, and there was not much difference among other sugarcane varieties (lines). Guire 2, Liangzhe 02-186, and Guitang 42 had excellent performance in yield and total sugar content therefore they are suitable for large-scale demonstration and promotion in Nanning, Guangxi or climate similar sugarcane area.
