Research Progress on Effects of Straw and Its Returning Methods on Soil Properties in Paddy Fields under Different Rotation Patterns

Abstract:

Crop straw is one of the most abundant biomass energy sources in agricultural production, and returning it to the field is the main way to utilize it. Rice is one of the most important food crops in China. Wheat-rice, rape-rice and double-season rice are common rice crop rotation systems in China. This paper summarized and analyzed the effects of wheat, rice, and rape straw mulching, burying, and composting on paddy soil properties, discussed the limitations of current research on straw returning, and looked forward to future research directions, with a view to providing theoretical and practical basis for efficient green straw returning and paddy soil fertilization.
