Production,Demand and Developmental Suggestions for Sweet Potato Seedling in Beijing

Abstract:

According to the investigation for seedling production and demand situation of sweet potato production areas, 41 seedling households (from Miyun, Daxing, Fangshan, Yanqing) and 116 planting households (from Miyun, Daxing, Fangshan, Yanqing, Shunyi) in Beijing, there were some problems on sweet potato breeding and production, including scattered planting area, uneven seedling quality, non-professional production and sales,low popularizing of virus-free sweet potato, high losing rate of sweet potato storage and so on.Recommendations for these problems were to optimize the layout of sweet potato varieties, to make innovative virus-free technology,to promote green,efficient and environmental seedling protection methods, finally, to create "seed agriculture" of radiating Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, to promote the development of sweet potato industry.
