Effects of Spraying Uniconazole on Agronomic Traits and Lodging Rate of Sweet Sorghum

Abstract:

The cultivar Jintianza3 was used as materials and uniconazole solvent of 600mg/L, 800mg/L, 1 000mg/L were used when the plant height of sweet sorghum was 40cm, 80cm, 120cm, respectively. Results showed that the sweet sorghum was effectively dwarfing by spraying uniconazole solvent , the strongest dwarfing effect was showed when the plant height was 80cm and 120cm and the concentration of the uniconazole solven was 600mg/L, 800mg/L. The stem diameter increased positively compared with the control and reaching the largest diameter by using 800mg/L,1 000mg/L uniconazole solvent when the plant height was 80cm, 120cm. There was no significant influence on the stalk yield among all the treatments. Lodging rate decreased significantly by 75.40%, 83.02% respectively compared with control by spraying 800mg/L and 1 000mg/L of uniconazole solvent when plant height was 120cm. Therefore, the yield of sweet sorghum showed no significant difference with control and lodging resistance increased when the plant height was 120cm and concentration was 800mg/L, implying it had the guiding significance for using uniconazole to regulate the growth of sweet sorghum.
