The Relationship and Cluster Analysis on Polysaccharides and Cellulose of Different Varieties of Dendrobium officinale

Abstract:

Dendrobium polysaccharide and cellulose content of different Dendrobium officinale varieties and the same variety in different altitudes were determined. The content of Dendrobium polysaccharide was determined by sulphuric acid phenol colorimetric method and the cellulose content was determined by drying method. The results showed that there were significant differences for Dendrobium polysaccharide and cellulose contents among different Dendrobium officinale varieties. The coefficient of variation of Dendrobium polysaccharide was less than that of cellulose, but PIC of Dendrobium polysaccharide was greater than that of cellulose. Dendrobium polysaccharide content was negatively correlated with the cellulose content. With the increase of altitude, Dendrobium polysaccharide content was increased but the cellulose content was decreased. Nine Dendrobium officinale varieties were clustered into two groups. One group was similar to Guangnan variety in Guiping city and another was similar to Duqiaoshan variety in Rongxian county.
