Progress of Field Rain-Harvesting Technology and Its Use Potential in Arid Potato Production

Abstract:

In recent years, ridge and furrow rain-harvesting technology has been gradually become the important measures of crop production in arid areas of china. The concept of ridge and furrow rain-harvesting technology was briefly introduced in the paper. From the viewpoints of rainwater harvesting, soil moisture keeping and water use, effects of rainwater harvesting and factors were summarized based on the current research progress, and influences of ridge and furrow rain-harvesting technology on crop growth and development were also analyzed. Finally, the potential use of ridge and furrow rain-harvesting technology in the arid potato production was proposed.
